Let me quote Tolstoy
Little by little I am building my own beliefs, but they are all, though firm, very indefinite and unconsoling. When intelligence asks; they answer well but when the heart aches and begs for an answer, there is no support or consolation.

Keats
John Keats wrote in a letter, "I cannot bear flashes of light and return to my glooms again". Thats how I feel lately.

vulnerability
I for one am not closed to the point where I prevent exposing some vulnerability, in the sense that without exposing some, how would you let anyone in? I'm not afraid to speak to truth of how I feel, regardless of controversy.

the musical scale
Lil one was playing with each bar of the gate and singing the musical scale without getting one key wrong. Amazing...

Brain and Heart - One in the same?
I really have a hard time accepting that the brain and the 'heart' is one in the same. Leo Tolstoy wrote in a letter: "When the intelligence asks, they answer well; but when the heart aches and begs for an answer, there is no support or consolation."
My logical brain tells me something but my emotional heart tells me another. So how is it coming from one in the same source?

yukelele
So two nights in a row we went to the local fair. Lil one was obsessed with the impossible golf ball bowling game where you had to roll 6 balls into each of six slots out of eight to win a guitar or yukelele. He amazingly did 5 out of 6 but ultimately didn't win. He was so upset and wanted the guitar so bad. I was so impressed with him but also sad with him but he had to understand that we win some and lose some. But I did order a yukelele online, he is going to look so cute strumming it.
Are you good?
So all of a sudden my lil one has been asking me this question, 'Are you good?' and I'm like yeah. I dunno where he got this from but his dad insists that he says it all the time. Then all of a sudden lately my lil one asks 'Me and you good mommy?' and I'm like yeah me and you are good.

happiness in tiny increments
I'm just starting to realize that happiness is not a goal but a process. And happiness is sprouted from within oneself, not found in anyone else.
When I completed my 2 mile run within less than the 30 mins I allotted, it gave me pure happiness. It gave me pure happiness to groove to the songs I enjoy right now in the moment. I felt true joy and happiness when my son giggled when I played puppets with him. That aromatic cup of coffee at work gave me some happiness.

So little guy freaked out when we turned right on red. 'No you can't go, it's red!' Has yet to learn there are exceptions to the rule.

both and make a mess
So a while back ucci said he wanted 'both' a baby brother and sister and confirmed 'both' again today. He then added today that he will 'play with them and make messes' with them.

hiro nakamura
So whenever my hubby wants the little one to go do something in the midst of watching TV, he tells my son that he is going to do the Hiro Nakamura, like the guy on Heroes who stops time, i.e pauses the TV. Now my son asks if we are going to nakamura whenever we stop to do something else.

snoopy
This actually happened over a year ago when ucci and I went yard-saleing. There was a 'free' pile of stuff and he went over to the pile and picked up a Snoopy doll and walked away. I thought that it was so cute; he obviously did not know what was free or not but picked up the best thing and my fav childhood character.

seattle
early am walked on the waterfront of the bay with my son. We walked to the Olympic sculptures park and threw coins into the water fountain. Climbed up the hill to look at the bay. We went to the acquarium where the red octopus was showing off its tentacles and the moon jellies were my fav. Lunch along the pier where the seagulls played tricks for french fries. We took the monorail and went to the space needle, rode kiddie rides, and visited the experience music project and science fiction museum. Hubby and son fascinated with Captain Kirk's and Spock's shirts on display. We took the monorail back and rushed to the rehearsal dinner on the argosy cruise.

flowers
So my hubby shows my son how to pick flowers and ever since he has been picking me flowers almost every day, he is the sweetest.
I asked him if he wanted a baby bro or sis and he replied 'both' to my amazement.
Knows all the Korean lyrics to Nabi-ya and San-toe-kki-ya.

Florida
I had been getting my little one all excited about going to Florida. Whenever the 'Beaches' commercial was on TV I was like we are going to the Ocean. And he'd be like, 'yeah!'
Some highlights:
Tradewinds park - butterflies and hummingbirds
Lion country safari - many rides for little ones like carousel, toddler train and ferris wheel, giraffe feeding, and drive through safari with baby rhino
Morikami Japanese museum and gardens - love the white and black smooth stones, bonsai, and gardens with bamboo water fountains and tranquil gardens with raked stones.
Pier fishing
next time I want to go treasure hungting in Vero beach, sal army finds, red reef to snorkle, train to Miami tri-rail, ...

Don't
Little one know how to say 'don't'
When we were in the ER for his ear infection and they put the hospital bracelet on him, he asked, 'What is this?' and I told him it was a bracelet and I touched it. He then said 'Don't touch my bracelet mommy'. A full sentence!

pickle heads
Little one likes to eat the small kosher pickles but he prefers to bite off the ends and leave them on his plate. All of a sudden he can repeat almost anything I say and he's in the "what's this" mode. Yesterday his new word was "clover" which he used to call flower.
